Welcome, Susi Schuegraf from another day in the jungle Life in Yelapa! I want to thank her for taking the time to respond to my questions so I can highlight her in the 2019 A to Z Challenge.

What brought you to Mexico?

The first time, an old boyfriend from Mexico City and then was curious about Los Angeles so lived there for many years. People told me I’m German with an Mexican ALMA (soul)!!!!!

The second time was while on vacation I met my now ex but then I stayed, the alma part was right!

What was the inspiration behind your blog name?

Susi’s inspiration for her blog name came from living in the jungle, at first very rustic but amazing, now in the city of the jungle i.e. but in the tropics.

What area of Mexico and topics does your blog primarily focus on?

Life in the jungle and Mexico even though I am slacking due to the many things I’m currently doing.

Why do you blog? What is the purpose of your site?  For whom do you write?

I am intrigued by sharing, reading and learning new things. I write for me and to share with friends plus those who are intrigued.

What is your favorite blog post?

Nature, because it is always surprising and takes your breath away.

What has been the most difficult for you to blog about?

Personal hardships with people. I don’t like to make people bitter or get criticized by others when one can’t share all the details as if it was a conversation, I guess flame mail.

What has been the best experience you’ve had in Mexico?

Life and learning so many different things and comparing it to life in other places I have lived. Tolerance and the beauty of doing things differently can be amazing eye-openers.

What has been the worst experience you’ve had in Mexico?

I would say dealing with bureaucracy. It’s insane and just as bad as Germany.

What advice do you have for those planning to move or travel to Mexico?

My advice is don’t force things, live lightly and enjoy the new and diverse things, there are always golden nuggets to be found anywhere and enjoy the people and food.

If you are currently in Mexico, how long do you plan on remaining?

I have no plans on leaving!

Where do you see your blog going?  What are your future blogging plans?

I want to invest more time between this blog and my other crafty blog because I have so much time in Mexico.
